MuscleSound is excited that Mike Yatsko is a part of the team. With 23 years of active duty with the Phoenix police department, a military background, and Master’s degree in exercise science and kinesiology, Mike brings extraordinary experience and expertise. Prior to joining MuscleSound, Mike was the Physical Fitness Coordinator for the city of Phoenix, as well as the chairperson for the Physical Fitness/Performance committee of the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training. As the chair, he helped to review, develop, and implement peace officer programs and instructor certifications for the state of Arizona. In addition, he also worked closely with the Cooper’s institute on research and outcome data for program evaluation which resulted in creating and developing a team of Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to create their own curriculum.
If that wasn’t enough Mike also did all the recruiting and training to ensure that every SME was on message and always worked on credibility. Under his eye, over 500 Arizona Peace Officers have been certified as Physical Fitness Instructors and showed statistically significant reduction in healthcare costs across all AZ Police Departments.
His unique experience helps bring MuscleSound to a new audience; he’ll be using the technology to help detect Muscle Energy Status levels in first responders including when to rest, when to hydrate, and overall how to take care of their bodies to save lives.
