Background – A fitness model was determined to increase her lean mass while reducing her body fat percentage (BF%). She had received conflicting calculations from multiple body composition measurement tools. This confusion led her to training with an athletic physical therapist who utilizes MuscleSound assessments to monitor client progress.
MuscleSound Intervention – The professional used the Body Composition Assessment to obtain a solid baseline for both BF% and adipose layer thickness. Using these measurements as the starting point, the professional developed a 6-month training plan with nutritional recommendations.
Results – After completing the professional’s plan, a Body Composition Assessment was performed. She reduced her BF% by 2.9% while increasing her lean mass. The adipose layer thickness measurements showed the greatest reduction in body fat from her back, lower side, and stomach. She now feels confident relying on the MuscleSound Body Composition Assessment to achieve her goals. The professional was able to develop a successful training and nutritional plan based on MuscleSound data, which has impacted the way clients interact with both fitness and food.
